Sound Waves Surf Contest at The LineUp presented by Wai Kai, T&C Surf and RVCA

Join us at Wai Kai on Saturday, November 30th, from 12 PM to 5 PM for the ultimate wave pool surf competition on the Wai Kai Wave, in collaboration with the Sound Waves Festival headlined by Diplo and ZHU!

This exciting surf competition, powered by Live Heats, offers limited slots for each division, early registration is encouraged. Entry fees are $65 per division (non-refundable) and include surf session discounts* leading up to the event, as well as practice opportunities on the competition day.

Competition Divisions:

• Open Surf (Co-Ed 10+) – 16 slots available

• Master Open Surf (Co-Ed 40+) – 16 slots available

• Womens Surf (10+) – 8 slots available

• Grom Open Surf (Co-Ed1 0-17) – 8 slots available

• Open Bodyboard (Co-Ed 10+) – 8 slots available

Competitors will battle it out on the 65ft Wai Kai Wave channel for bragging rights and a chance to win epic prizes from our event sponsors, including the Grand Prize of tickets to the Saturday night Sound Waves concert on the Wai Kai Event Lawn featuring ZHU! (*must be 18 years or older to attend concert)

The best rides will be judged using a point scoring system based on trick technique, wave control, and overall style. The top riders from each round will advance based on their top two scores in leader board style format to reach the Final round. Additionally, there will be honorary mention awards for highest wave score, best trick, and more!

Expect plenty of action on and off the waves with partner activations, food and drink specials, and live music from featured guest DJs on the Wave Deck.

Everyone is invited to come out and enjoy the music and good vibes! Grab an ice-cold beverage, order some delicious food, and relax on the wave deck while watching local shredders showcase their skills in this fun and unique competition format.

Wai Kai Wave pool will reopen to the public after the contest and going into the evening hours during the show - so if you want to free surf after the contest, be sure to reserve your session.

*Surf Discounts: All registrants will receive Wai Kai Surf Ambassador member ID, which discounts surf session on the 65ft wave to $50 sessions. Valid through the end of the year, December 31, 2024
