Talk Story with Luke Shepardson, A North Shore Lifeguard Association (NSLA) Benefit

Talk Story is a signature event series at The LineUp at Wai Kai that brings people together each month to meet icons of Oahu’s waterman community and leaders of our ocean-minded culture.

To launch our inaugural Talk Story event, The LineUp has invited Luke Shepardson, winner of the 2023 Eddie Aikau Big Wave Invitational and a North Shore lifeguard, to give a play-by-play of his life-changing day at Waimea Bay. Host Rocky Canon will take event attendees through Luke’s insights into every wave he rode during the contest that led to his amazing hometown hero victory. Get Luke’s autograph on a custom poster available only at this event, and/or book a surf session with him! The event will also feature live music by Mel Puu and DJ Mason Rose, a silent auction, and more.

The event will support The North Shore Lifeguard Association (NSLA) and West Oahu Jr. Lifeguards, two nonprofit organizations created to provide lifesaving education to the community through instructional programs for the public, ocean-oriented events and contests, and to support the youth through the Junior Lifeguard programs. • 4:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Silent Auction
• 5:45 p.m. – 6:45 p.m. Fat Tire Expression Sessions featuring Luke Shepardson & Hawaiian Water Patrol
• 7:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. Talk Story & Entertainment (tickets need to be purchased to attend this portion of the event)

Cost: $20 for adults (18+ years old), $10 for children (17 years old and under)
